Details have been announced regarding the return of First Down Fridays in downtown Pullman, coinciding with selected Washington State University home football games. The events are scheduled for the night before the Apple Cup and the season-opening Battle of the Palouse, taking place from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Olsen Street in front of Neill Public Library.
The gatherings will feature various family-friendly activities, including a cornhole tournament, live music, dancing, local vendors, and a beer garden. Specifically, First Down Fridays will occur on August 29th prior to the University of Idaho game and on September 19th before the University of Washington game. Organizers are considering the possibility of adding additional First Down Fridays throughout the season.
The events are being organized by the Pullman Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Pullman Association, WSU, and the City of Pullman. First Down Fridays previously took place for several seasons approximately ten years ago, and the announcement regarding their return was made last month.
