The Port of Whitman County is hosting the 8th annual Snake River Family Festival on Saturday, June 14, at Boyer Park and Marina in Colfax.
The festival will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and will offer a complimentary barbecue lunch, Ferdinand’s ice cream, live music, as well as various river-related exhibits and activities suitable for all ages.
Attendees will have the chance to enter a raffle for a half-day guided jet boat tour for two in Hells Canyon, provided by Snake River Adventures, by visiting exhibitor booths and collecting stamps on their event passports. The winners of the raffle will be announced at the band stage at 1:30 pm.
This event emphasizes the significance of the Columbia-Snake River System to the local community of Whitman County and the broader Palouse region.
According to Commission President Kristine Meyer, the festival serves as a platform for the community to recognize the role of the river system, which supports various industries in the area. The river is integral to freight transportation, energy production, and recreational activities.
