Whitman Recovery Community Center in Pullman is hosting a grand opening on Saturday, May 31, at its new location at 226 E. Main, next to Neill’s Coffee and Ice Cream.
The event will take place from 1:00 – 4:00 pm and will include various activities such as games, raffle prizes, music, ice cream, and coffee.
This center is part of the Latah Recovery Center, a nonprofit organization that has been operating successfully in Moscow, Idaho, for over a decade.
Previously, the recovery center was located temporarily at Real Life Church in Pullman. Ahead of the grand opening, the center will be open on weekdays from 9 am – 2 pm, and walk-ins are welcome.
With the establishment of a permanent location, the recovery center plans to expand its operating hours to better serve the community.
Megan Guido, the director of WRCC, stated, “We are excited to introduce a peer recovery community center in downtown Pullman. We are working to address the stigma associated with recovery from substance use and behavioral health challenges, and our new location supports this effort.”
