Idaho Fish and Game is seeking community members interested in wildlife to assist in monitoring monarch butterflies during their migration through the state this summer.
Volunteers will adopt milkweed patches across Idaho to observe butterfly activity and assess the health of their habitat. Monarch caterpillars depend on milkweed, and the reduction of this habitat significantly impacts monarch butterfly populations.
The survey is scheduled from July 1 to August 15, following a volunteer training webinar on May 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
