Palouse Habitat for Humanity has received contributions of solar panels and HVAC systems for three homes currently being built in Latah and Whitman counties.
David and Nancy Nelson provided solar panels and an energy-efficient HVAC system for a Habitat house in Moscow. Additionally, Avista donated solar panels and HVAC systems for two homes in Whitman County, specifically one in Palouse and another in Pullman.
David Nelson expressed the significance of renewable energy for future generations, emphasizing the need for families of all income levels to benefit from the savings and security it offers.
Avista’s Business and Public Affairs Manager, Paul Kimmell, remarked on their commitment to supporting Habitat. With funding from the Named Communities Investment Fund, Avista allocated $68,703 to equip the two new homes with solar arrays and high-efficiency HVAC systems, aimed at enhancing energy resilience and assisting families in managing long-term utility costs.
