Kamiak Butte County Park, located north of Pullman, is expected to be closed for several weeks during the upcoming season. The Whitman County Parks Department plans to repair and upgrade the park’s water system in May and June. During this period, the park will experience a complete closure for over a month, along with some area closures within the park as the water system will be shut down.

Additionally, it is noted that Steptoe Butte State Park, located north of Colfax, is currently closed for paving until October. As a result, both popular butte parks in Whitman County will have closures at various times this season.
