A fire occurred in a kitchen of a residence on North Polk Street in Moscow on Monday night, leading to damage to the home. City of Moscow Volunteer Firefighters responded to the incident at approximately 11:00 PM, arriving within five minutes. The fire was quickly extinguished, and fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The homeowner successfully evacuated one of their dogs prior to the firefighters’ arrival, while the firefighters were able to rescue two additional dogs, which received care from Moscow EMS personnel.
Moscow Fire Chief Brian Nickerson indicated that the fire may have originated from an appliance in the kitchen, but the exact cause is still being investigated. Moscow Police were also present at the scene. This incident marks the second house fire addressed by City of Moscow Volunteers on that same day.
