Kittitas County’s Yutong Liang was recognized at Washington’s Distinguished Young Woman scholarship program held in Pullman over the weekend. Liang, a senior at Ellensburg High School, will progress to the national program in Mobile, Alabama, scheduled for June.

Isabella Huntley from Colfax secured the title of first runner-up, while HettyLee Laughary from Garfield Palouse received an interview award. Tatum Lloyd from Pullman won a talent award during the event.

The state program, which took place on Saturday at Pullman High School, awarded nearly $10,000 in scholarships and featured seven participants.
