Sunil Ramalingam has been appointed to the Latah County Magistrate bench in Moscow by the Magistrate Commission of Idaho’s Second Judicial District. Ramalingam, who has served as a Magistrate Judge in Lewiston since 2019, was selected after interviews with four finalists. He previously worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Idaho’s College of Law in Moscow and earned his law degree from the same institution.

The appointment follows the vacancy created by the appointment of former Magistrate Judge Megan Marshall to the Latah County Second District Court bench by Governor Brad Little in May. This vacancy was opened when Judge John Judge retired from the felony court earlier in January. Eight attorneys applied for the position.
