The McConnell Mansion will host an event focused on history and music in Moscow on Wednesday, September 24, at 7:00 pm. This event will highlight the museum’s two historic melodeons, small pump organs that gained popularity in the 19th century.

Musician and craftsman John Elwood, who has recently restored both instruments, will discuss the repairs and insights gained during the restoration process. Linda Edwards will share information about the instruments’ original owners, Carlton Cummings and the Canfield family.

The event will also feature performances by Deborah Collins and John Elwood on the restored melodeons, allowing attendees to experience the sound of these historic instruments.

This free event offers an opportunity to engage with local history through both storytelling and live music at the mansion.
