Two Moscow City Council members are officially campaigning for the position of mayor. Julia Parker submitted her candidacy on Wednesday morning, while Councilwoman Hailey Lewis filed her candidacy on Monday. Current Mayor Art Bettge will not seek re-election.

In addition to the mayoral race, three seats on the Moscow City Council will be contested in the upcoming election, with Sage McCetich being the only candidate to have filed for a council seat so far. The seat currently occupied by Councilwoman Gina Taruscio is also included in the upcoming vote.

The candidate filing period for various positions in Latah County is ongoing. In Idaho, the deadline for candidate filing is set for a week from Friday, August 29th, at 5:00 PM. Filing is managed through the county auditor’s office located in Moscow.
