The City of Moscow is taking part in the 2025 City Nature Challenge: Palouse Region, an initiative focused on documenting biodiversity from April 25 to 28.

This event invites community members to record various forms of life, including plants, animals, fungi, bacteria, and lichen found in Latah and Whitman Counties.

Participants can use the iNaturalist app to photograph and upload their observations. Additionally, the iNaturalist website features a project page for the Palouse Region, showcasing a leaderboard that tracks the number of observations and species documented.

The project aims to engage the community in recognizing and documenting the Palouse ecosystem.
