Safe Routes to School is organizing its annual “Polar Walk” for students in Moscow on Wednesday, February 5th. Approximately 2,000 students from local schools will participate alongside parents, teachers, and University of Idaho staff and faculty.

The event promotes active travel to school during the winter months. Safe Routes to School aims to provide safe and enjoyable opportunities for active commuting in Moscow.

Participants will travel in “walking school buses” from designated meeting locations with volunteer supervision. These groups will leave 15-20 minutes before the start time of their respective schools.

Meeting locations include:
– West Park Elementary students at the University of Idaho Rec Center
– McDonald Elementary students at the Eggan Youth Center
– Saint Mary’s students at the Saint Mary’s church parking lot
– Palouse Prairie Charter students at Indian Hills Park
