There is one position available on the Whitman County Planning Commission.

This important board is responsible for guiding land use decisions in Whitman County. Currently, the commission is engaged in updating the county’s regulations regarding wind farms.

Of the four recent openings, three have been filled, leaving the Commissioner District 2 position vacant. This district encompasses the Southern part of College Hill and Pioneer Hill in Pullman, as well as Southern Whitman County. The commission typically meets on the first Wednesday evening of each month in Colfax, but has recently increased its meetings to twice a month to expedite the wind farm code update. Members serve four-year terms.
