The Palouse Audubon Society is organizing a presentation titled “How to Count Four and a Half Million Raptors” on Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00 pm, taking place at the 1912 Center in Moscow. The speaker, Steve Dougill, will discuss his experiences at a prominent raptor migration site in Veracruz, Mexico.
The presentation will include insights into the methods used for counting migrating birds, as well as information regarding the biologists and conservation organizations involved in managing the site. It will also explore the variety of wildlife present in the area, extending beyond raptors.
Steve Dougill is also involved with desert tortoises and endangered bird species in Southern Nevada and leads wildlife tours to various destinations including India, Nepal, Mexico, and West Africa.
This event is free and welcomes both Audubon members and members of the public.
