The Palouse Choral Society is set to launch its 26th season with concerts scheduled for Friday, October 17, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, October 18, at 3:00 pm at Simpson United Methodist Church in Pullman.

The concert, titled “To Be Sung on the Water,” will showcase a diverse selection of music spanning over 400 years, including Renaissance compositions, American classics such as “Wade in the Water” and “Shenandoah,” as well as contemporary works by composer Eric Whitacre, including his piece “Water Night.”

The select Chamber Choir will perform notable American pieces by composers Samuel Barber and Aaron Copland, alongside works by Maddalena Casulana, recognized as the first female composer to have a collection of her music published.

Additionally, the concert will feature the premiere of “Sing On,” the winning piece from a composition competition created by emerging composer MaryAnn Muglia Smith.

Tickets for the event are priced at $25 for adults and $8 for students, and can be purchased online at palousechoralsociety.org.
