The Port of Whitman County has received a $40,000 grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology, designated for the installation of electric vehicle chargers at the Port’s Oakesdale Mill Site.
Plans include the installation of two dual-port charging stations, which will provide a total of four charging spots available to the public for a fee.
The grant supports the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Oakesdale area, enhancing accessibility for travelers on State Highway 27. The chargers are expected to be installed and operational by the summer of 2026.
