Trymaine Gaither has announced his resignation from his position as Pullman City Councilmember for Ward 1, effective July 15. Gaither was appointed to the council on January 16, 2024, to fill the vacancy left by the newly elected Mayor Francis Benjamin.

In his resignation letter delivered to the Mayor and the Pullman City Council on July 1, 2025, Gaither expressed that serving Ward 1 was a significant honor and highlighted accomplishments such as the establishment of listening sessions and partnerships that enhanced policymaking in the area.

He stated that his decision to resign was based on family reasons, as he plans to relocate to ensure his son receives specialized services.

Further details regarding the process to fill the vacant seat in Ward 1 will be announced by the Pullman City Council.
