The Pullman Good Food Co-op has revealed plans to open a new grocery store in downtown Pullman. A letter of intent has been signed for the store’s location within the Muse on Main, a mixed-use building that includes residential apartments and retail space. The Co-op aims to utilize 4,000 square feet for its member-owned grocery, with potential for future expansion, and members will have access to the Muse parking garage at no cost.

The proposed grocery store will offer a variety of products, including fresh produce, meats, dairy, dry goods, and prepared foods, along with online ordering options for in-store pickup services for members.

To prepare the space for the grocery store, the Co-op plans to launch a capital campaign, focusing on fundraising to support the installation of a commercial kitchen. This campaign is slated to kick off during the PGFC’s annual meeting on December 5th. An official opening date for the Co-op grocery store will be announced once sufficient funds are secured and planning is complete.

The Pullman Good Food Co-op was founded in 2018. Previously, the Co-op’s efforts to establish a grocery store were unsuccessful when they sought to purchase the old Fireside Grille location on Bishop Boulevard but could not meet the fundraising goal of half a million dollars. Following this experience, PGFC Board Member and Chair of the Location Committee Garth Mader indicated that the decision was made to pursue a smaller grocery store model based on feedback from their members.
