The Athletics and Activities Director position at Pullman High School will be eliminated, and the associated responsibilities will be reassigned due to budget cuts.
Pullman School District Superintendent Dr. Bob Maxwell communicated this administrative change in an email to PHS staff on Wednesday. Wendy Kruger has served as PHS AD for the past four years, and her position will conclude when the district’s next fiscal year begins on July 1st. Maxwell indicated that the Pullman School Board’s decision to eliminate the standalone AD position was influenced by the district’s financial challenges. The workload of the AD will transition to the PHS Assistant Principal, who will assume these duties starting in July. The new position, titled PHS Assistant Principal/Athletics and Activities Director, will be open for applications from current district administrative certified staff. Maxwell emphasized that this decision was made with careful consideration, noting that the PHS AD role was previously part of the assistant principal’s responsibilities.
