The City of Moscow has announced the opening of registration for the annual Light Up the Season event on Thursday, December 4, starting at 6:00 pm at the locations of Friendship Square and Main Street. The event will feature a tree lighting ceremony, a storefront decorating competition, and a parade showcasing lighted floats.

Businesses and organizations interested in participating in the DeLIGHTful Downtown Storefront Contest can complete their registration through the City of Moscow’s Submittable portal until 5:00 pm on Monday, November 24. Storefront decorations must be completed and displayed by December 1 to be eligible for judging by a panel that includes city staff, City Council members, and local business owners, with the winner being decided by public vote.

Registration for parade floats is open and will remain available until either 50 entries are reached or until 5:00 pm on Friday, November 28, whichever occurs first. Awards will be presented in four categories: Best General Entry, Best Youth Entry, Best Use of Lights, and Best Business Entry.
