The Port of Whitman County will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday for a new fertilizer facility located at Central Ferry on the Snake River.
AGROW Solutions, based in Pullman, has developed this fertilizer manufacturing and distribution facility at the port site. In 2023, the port board finalized a 20-year lease with AGROW for ten acres at Central Ferry, situated south of Dusty. At that time, the port announced that AGROW planned to invest 2.5 million dollars in the construction of the plant. To support the development, the port utilized a 1.6 million dollar low-interest loan from the State of Washington for necessary infrastructure improvements at the site, with AGROW contributing an additional 400,000 dollars for these upgrades. AGROW’s initial facility, which opened near Pullman in 2023, has reportedly reached its capacity.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Wednesday.
