The reconstruction of Main Street in Pullman is nearing completion, prompting transportation officials to address the next challenge for enhancing downtown.
The Washington State Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the Palouse Regional Transportation Planning Organization, is investigating options for managing heavy truck traffic in downtown Pullman. An open house is scheduled for Thursday, February 20th, where potential alternative routes for truck traffic will be discussed. The event will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at Pullman City Hall. Public input is encouraged, particularly from individuals with experience regarding harvest traffic and heavy freight.
This study is being conducted by consultant Welch Comer, the same firm previously engaged by the City of Pullman for the downtown reconstruction project.
