The trial of a 36-year-old Pullman man, Jacob Spray, has commenced in Whitman County Superior Court. Spray is facing charges including 1st degree murder, 1st degree rape, and 1st degree burglary in connection with the death of his estranged wife, Jamie, who was found deceased in her camper on Military Hill in Pullman on March 26th.
The prosecution alleges that Spray admitted to his father that he killed Jamie, and several witnesses reportedly identified him as being present at the scene. Additionally, a key to Jamie’s trailer was discovered in the backyard of a neighboring property.
A jury was selected late Monday, and the trial is expected to last for two weeks. If found guilty, Spray may face a life sentence in prison.
Retiring Judge Gary Libey is overseeing the trial, which will conclude his tenure on the bench, having presided over the case since its initiation.
