Colton Bennett has announced his candidacy for a local Idaho State House seat. He aims to contest the position currently held by State Representative Lori McCann of Lewiston. McCann secured her seat by a margin of 200 votes over Bennett in the Republican primary last year.

Bennett, a veteran who served six years in the U.S. Army as a combat medic, has experience in medical support and is presently employed as a medical assistant at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow.

The outcome of the election for this position will be determined in the fall of next year, following the primary election scheduled for May.
