Washington State University has announced the closure of its in-house graphic design department, effective at the end of October. This decision is part of a broader initiative to reduce spending in light of decreasing state and federal funding.

An update on the university’s website indicated that while the graphic design services will be eliminated, the printing department, CougarPrints Plus, will remain operational. Additionally, the administration has recently shifted Mailing Services to be managed under WSU Facilities Services.

These changes mark the latest developments in the university’s efforts to streamline operations since the appointment of President Betsy Cantwell last winter.
