Washington State University Police responded to a report of a potentially armed individual at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on campus.

On Sunday morning around 6:30, a woman reported that her son had contacted her from his hotel room, expressing concern about another individual with a firearm. He advised her to call the police. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man who was uncooperative and resisted arrest. To subdue him, officers deployed a Taser. Following the incident, the room was searched, but no firearm or additional individuals were found. The man was subsequently transported to Pullman Regional Hospital for evaluation. WSU Police have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the campus.
