The Washington State University Regents are scheduled to hire the institution’s next president on Thursday afternoon. The board will convene at 4:00 PM inside the CUB on campus to discuss the approval of the contract with the selected candidate. Last month, the regents began contract negotiations with “Candidate B,” who was identified from a pool of three finalists. The identities of the finalists have not been disclosed to the public, and the new president will be announced following the contract approval during the open meeting. The proceedings will also be available for online viewing at this link: https://www.youtube.com/live/p1edy_By5V8.

Kirk Schulz, who serves as the WSU Systemwide President, announced in April his decision to retire in June of this year. This announcement coincided with discussions among faculty and former provosts regarding leadership changes at the institution.
