**Upcoming Primary Elections for Pullman City Council**

The Pullman City Council is set for a competitive primary election. Recently, candidates Cindy Kothandaraman, John-Mark Mahnkey, and Bryan MacDonald filed for the seat currently held by Trymaine Gaither. Randy Cross also filed earlier this week. These four candidates will compete in the August primary, with the top two advancing to the November general election.

Additionally, four candidates have emerged for the Pullman City Council seat currently occupied by Carla De Lira, who has not filed for re-election. They will also face off in the August primary.

In contrast, the seat held by Megan Guido is expected to have a different scenario, as she is likely not running for re-election. Currently, V. Shae Ortega is the only candidate who has filed for this position. If no additional candidates enter the race, Ortega will assume the position uncontested. Candidates for this seat must reside in Ward 3, which includes Pioneer Hill.

In other local races, the Pullman Regional Hospital board will see all four incumbents running for election without any challengers. Similarly, the countywide Port of Whitman County Commissioner race appears to have incumbent Karl Webber running unopposed for re-election.

Candidate filing closes at 5:00 PM today and can be completed at the Whitman County Auditor’s Office in Colfax or online at the provided link.
