The Whitman County Rural Library District has appointed a new executive director, Christy Hughes. Hughes brings eight years of experience in marketing, public relations, and outreach from her work at public libraries. The search for her replacement began after the resignation of Cody Allen last fall. Since the retirement of longtime Director Kirstie Kirkpatrick in 2020, the library district has experienced several changes in leadership. Hughes will be officially welcomed during a reception on June 22 at 4:00 PM at the Colfax Library.
